One thing I don't get about the ending

Up until the end, Angela had only been killing those who insulted or hurt her or Ricky. So why did she kill Paul, who she seemed to like and whom she opened up to, apart from a couple of mistakes, which he seemed to be genuinely sorry about. That last kill seemed out of place, unless it was meant to imply that Angela had become completely insane by that point.

Well in the sequel Angela talks about him briefly to Molly, she says "he reminds me of this boy i knew when i was a kid, he didn't like me very much either, but i fixed him, i drowned him". So i guess in her mind she thought him liking her was all an act and he was just messing with her.

I mean he did go with the girl who was bullying her at one point, and with Angela being a psychotic killer just do the math.

Hmm, but she didn't "drown" Paul. She decapitated him. Maybe she meant the dude on the canoe.

And while Paul did get caught with Judy, it's implied that Angela wanted to forgive him right up until the end. But I guess it might have been to add to the shock. They built Angela up as an innocent and misunderstood girl, but the ending revealed a psychopath.

You may be right, but her and Paul did go swimming, or at least she tells him "Lets go swimming" then we see them naked and he's in her arms. She could have drowned him and then cut his head off.

She got out of a mental institution in the sequel with a full on sex change and becomes a counselor at a camp, and its pretty much her killing every camper she thinks is bad, pretty much anyone that violates one of her moral codes.

The sequel is alot different than the first one though, its played up as a really campy horror comedy, and Angela is this ultra goody two shoes and anyone that does drugs or has sex or isn't a happy camper she kills.

Its alot of fun, even better than the first one imo, you should check it out, the 3rd movie is not as good as the 2nd buts its still pretty good.

I think it's also implied that Aunt Martha isn't playing with a full deck either, so maybe she saw no problem sending the kids there.

I think Angela was struggling at that point to come to grips with her sexuality/personality and was losing track of reality.

She had always been struggling but that was the bit that tipped her into psycho land. She hadn't ever been well considering she killed close to 10 people but they were all people who mocked or hurt her. She felt justified in her head.

This time I think something musta happened that we will never know. I say 1 of 2 things:

1. He freaked out when she either told or showed him her private parts like all guys then woulda done. She decided to kill him to shut him up and she broke from reality.

or 2. She killed him before they got going because she couldn't dare to tell him who she really was and she cracked.

I say more than likely that's what happened. She could never comprehend what her aunt did to her and she finally snapped hence the fereal state at the end in the discovery scene. It was big enough to break her; she really cared for him and was her first love. No one cared about her enough thru the movie and he was the one who did besides her cousin.
