Friday The 13th (1980) or Sleepaway Camp (1983) and why?
I've only seen Friday The 13th, I have never seen Sleepaway Camp yet so I can't really say which one I like better.
If you want a girl meets girl girl is boy theme thriller/slasher you cant go wrong with deadly bressings
shareMy personal favorite is Friday the 13th Part V. It has lots of weird kills, plenty of breasts (some nice ones), teen sex and humor to boot.
sharehere you go! i love this. finally someone giving some love to part 5. i don't understand why this part gets so maligned. it's so great. oh my gosh. it's like friday the 13th on speed. it has the best of everything almost. it has great and memorable funny and fun characters that are so unique in personality, it has so many boobs and nudity from so many hot girls, it has great friday the 13th atmosphere and mood, it has some of the best kills this series ever had, it has lovable characters who speak some of the best lines in this series.
it has a laid back, fun atmosphere, great outdoor shots and weather with the raining and sunny days, great hillbilly setting and house with great hillbilly characters who are really dumb, a great serious campy atmosphere, and a seedy, grimy atmosphere which gives this film a better than most in this series feeling.
Sleepaway Camp, for sure. The original Friday the 13th was so boring.

Just look at the characters in this movie! The list goes on forever:
-Ricky is a badass kid and will take up for his cousin no matter what and curses like a mofo!
-Angela with her hurt doe eyes makes you want her to get revenge on the camp creeps.
-The insane Aunt Martha in the beginning who you know is wacko.
-Ronnie, the body builder counselor with the nut huggers.
-Nice James Earl Jones' brother cook guy.
-Fat pervert cook guy who gets what he deserves
-Mel / Camp Director dude (also perv) who was dad in Midnight Express
-Judy the stuck up bully girl
-Meg the muscle for Judy and love interest of camp director Mel
You could name many more for sure. I just don’t see other slashers having such a great ensemble of standout characters.
After watching this again recently i have to add:
-Suzy the nice counselor who slapped the piss out of Judy :)
Here again to add another great character. I don’t know the kids name but there’s a short 80’s dude on the roof with the punks who threw the water balloon at Angel. When they get down after they are scolded by the camp counselor he keeps flipping Ricky off. That guy should have been a star!
