Say what you want about this film, but the twist is amazing.

I love Sleepaway Camp, but to say it's the most shocking twist of all time just goes to show you don't know much about film history.

Yes---"Psycho" for starters, but let's not forget these classic endings either:

"Diabolique" (the original French version)

"Dead & Buried"

"Homicidal"

"Charade"

"Seconds" (the Rock Hudson Movie)

"Dead Heat On A Merry-Go-Round"

and of course..."Race With The Devil"

Really? Shocking? Have you not watched any reality TV over the past 10yrs? Maybe in 83 it would be shocking but in '16, no, it is not shocking at all.

Having seen this when I was about 5 years old I have to say it is the most shocking twist ending I've ever seen. In hindsight it's actually quite funny that the characters are more freaked out that Angela has a penis than the fact she just cut a kid's head off, but that's how I felt when watching it as a child. These days, with there being more awareness of transgender issues, it's perhaps not quite as shocking but back in the 80s, and for a young person, that reveal was a massive surprise that made the film far more memorable than many other slasher movies of the era.

...I'd say the prize for the most "shocking" twist in horror has to go to Saw.

I have to agree with the OP! For an 80s slasher film, where the twist is the killer's identity only, It was a pretty cool twist!
