Haunted me for years...

I saw part of this on television as an 8 year old... it's haunted my ever since. I finally hunted down a VHS copy a few years ago and was glad I did.

Does anyone else remember seeing this as kid and being scarred of the horrifying woman on the giant television screen?

Alot of this movie is quite laughable now but in a great way. Definately worth hunting down if you are a fan of great b-movies from the 80's.

I was just explaining that scene from the movie to my wife and her sister and thought I would look up the movie on IMDB. I was definitely scared and I think of this movie from time to time.

Great to see I'm not the only fan of this movie... It is a beautiful movie with a very haunting, eerie atmosphere and Belinda Bauer is excellent in the lead role. I was kind of expecting the movie to be cheesy and trashy... but it's not, it is a genuinely good movie and criminally underrated. I love the theme song as well. I've seen many versions of Oscar Wilde's classic, and as different as this movie may be, it's by far one of the best. Exquisite and sensational, 10/10.

Glad to know I'm not the only one!
Saw it when I was 5 and it scared the hell out of me. I remembered it quite vividly. I saw it at my aunt and uncle's and had nightmares for a few years. Never forgot it!

OMG!!!! I am so happy to have found this forum. I saw this movie when I was a child and I could not sleep by myself for months. I still think of the old lady laughing and turning to the camera....so creepy. It's interesting that so many of you saw it when young and were scared as well!! Now it's all in youtube...but I don't think I'l watch the scary parts...

anybody know where to get this on DVD or VHS?

Totally! I saw it when I was 10 or so. The scene where the girl was swimming in the pool & when she surfaced for air she found the surface of the water had been replaced by a huge pane of glass & she drowned stuck with me all these years. Also the one near the end where the star sees herself as a really old woman on film & is horrified by what she sees. Cheesy, but kinda fun. :)

The girl swimming may be a scene from another movie called The Legacy which came out in 1978.
