Great acting, well written, a truly remarkable film.

I have wanted to see this film for many years but never seemed to be able to find it. I was thrilled to have found a copy and was not dissapointed in anyway. Meryl Streep as normal delivered a flawless performance as the title character Karen Silkwood, but I also thought that Cher was great in this too. I have always been fascinated about Karen Silkwood and have read online about her life and untimely death on many occasions. It was nice to see everything I have read actually played out on the screen. A great film that I will add to my personal collection.

Agreed. Superb film overall!

Agreed. So overlooked. Meryl Streep deserved the oscar, and this deserved a best picture nomination.

I agree with everything you said, Josh84. The subject matter of this film is so interesting and so important. Karen Silkwood was a very brave woman. I thought the cast all gave very strong performances. Meryl Streep was brilliant as always. I wish this film recieved the credit that it deserves. It's one of my favourites.

Couldn't agree with you more. This film is remarkable, the story was well acted and very interesting. Meryl Streep was great, as always, and Kurt and Cher complimented the film very nicely. The story of Karen Silkwood is very interesting and I plan to read a book about her life/death now because of the film.

Agreed. I thought it was fantastic, with a stellar turn by everyone involved.

I second that! Silkwood was a very realistic film, and the actors/actresses in "Silkwood", including Cher, Meryl Streep, and the others were superb.

Oh yes, this was such a good movie and of course, the fact that it was based on a true story made it even more amazing. The sad part is that they never really caught the people who basically "killed her" (ran her off the road), although most of her friends, relatives, and supporters KNEW who actually did it.
