timeless masterpiece - can't believe it's 30 years ago

i guess i'm declaring my age here, but wow what a great film. even 30 years later

so well done, it's firing hard on all cylinders. i mean, there's not a weak spot anywhere in the film; story, music, editing. it's a total ride, and a joy ride at that.

what's more, i remember being that age and having those gonas like that. the world was fresh and alive.

VIVA LA 1980s ! ! ! ! !

I totally agree. I reluctantly went to see this the week it opened. I honestly thought, from watching the Trailer, it was going to be another mindless, teen sex romp, but instead I was just blown away. Everything about this Film was different, and one of the things that made a strong impression was the score. I could not get over having this moody electronic music playing throughout the movie. At that time, I'd heard (and loved) Tangerine Dreams scores for Thief and Sorcerer, but using that kind of Music for a teenage sex comedy, was such a crazy idea, but it worked perfectly. I like to describe Risky Business as an art-house version of an 80s teen movie.

Hardly a masterpiece, but it`s a good film, surprisingly well crafted, intelligent and thoughtful for such a teen flick. And Tangerine Dream`s scores always seem to rule (with the exception of The Keep).

Hardly a masterpiece,

MAYBE WITH a few plot changes. But it had its moments of brilliance no question.
The thing is the audience probably didn't appreciate it for the subliminal content and maybe just noticed the obvious.

I agree, it's on my all time favorite list. Watch it all the time still. Makes me miss the 80's big time. The Tangerine Dream soundtrack makes the movie so much cooler. There is nothing I don't like about this movie.
