Loved it as a Kid but Just Rewatched it... Wow, This was Bad

When I was a kid, I LOVED anything with the word "ninja" in it, especially this movie. I was heavily into a variety of martial arts for years; Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, Judo, Kendo, and, of course, I sought out a place that taught "ninjutsu." LOVED it all. Back then, as long as people were wearing the ninja uniform, I'd watch it... didn't care about any plot or anything - just get to the fighting!!

25 years later... holy hell, this was awful. I'm not gonna lie, I still dig the "ninja" scenes, but I can't believe what passed for "plot" back then. Not a single person in this could act - at all. There was absolutely no logic for anything. (I was gonna list everything but I don't have all night.)

I started rewatching some of these classics that I loved from my childhood but maybe I should stop.

I know what you mean. I loved Ninja movies back when I was 12/13 yo. Watching them now though, I can't help laughing at how ridiculous it all is. The bad acting, the idiotic plot, poor dialog.

And how about the scene where Sho and the cop tries to get information out of the guys at the playground and the guys say they don't know anything. So what do Sho and the cop do? They beat the snot out of them!. What?????

No way! This movie rocks! Much better than any MA movie today!

It's not meant to be Oscar worthy acting. Bruce Lee movies never had great acting either!

I absolutely love the scene where Braden smacks the chick after she asks him to leave Kane alone, "He's only a child".

That 80's sound effect when she gets smacked by Braden is CLASSIC!
