Terrible Smooth Jazz Special edition ending

I just saw (on TNT) the special edition of this movie for the first time in about 20 years. Holy crap is the new ending terrible. It's worse than the one from when it was initially released! How, with all of George's money, is the updated ending 100 times worse than the ending from 1983?

Seriously, what happened to George as a filmmaker, and as a businessman? Is he on drugs and we just don't know about it?

It's like that relaxation music that people used to sell CDs of out of a cart in the middle of shopping malls.

Instead of trying to sound cute, stay on topic.

The new ending is grander and much more comprehensive in scope, as it showed celebrations at the fall of the Empire all over the galaxy with a majestic yet somber musical piece, rather than being contained (as in the original) wholly on Endor with a tacky musical piece that a kindergarten group would throw together. I'm glad Yub Nub is excised forever, to be honest, bring in and keep Victory Celebration!
