Ewoks? Teddy Bears? Muppets? scenes in the Forest were a Disgrace

Incredibly childish, an insult to anyone over the age of 14, like little munchkins with fur

reply

So bad it's actually uncomfortable to watch. And you're being generous with your age cutoff.

I'd put the number at about 12.

reply

the film was a poorly written mess only liked because of the 1980s...nothing more

Don't be left out! Be the first on your block to collect 'em all!

AT Least they're Cute. Jar Jar Binks was an ugly Stereo Type!

When Jar Jar came along Most people forgot their hate for the Ewoks.Episode

I heard Episode III Jar Jar was supposed to be helping Palpitine get Laws passed by the committee, but they cut that scene from the script at least that could've made him a little
(And I Mean Little) BAD @$$!

 Women, can't live with em; So stuff your mother and live with that.(Bullet Tooth 504)

And even with Ewoks bringing this film down, it's still better than all the Prequels and The Force Awakens combined.

reply

No it isnt

Force awakens had a plot that started immediately

Return of the jedi was *beep* awful for many reasons

It's acting was a mixed bag and weaker than tfa

The "first act" consists of a rescue that neither builds up the characters or advance the plot...it is complete fluff and it doesn't help that han solo never contributes anything to the film

This film has a pitiful antagonist in the form of the emperor...he is a one dimensional cartoon who is a step down from darth vader and serves no other point but to create a quick and easy and lazy redemption scene(instead of using gary kurz's more realistic version of the redemption which featured vader wanting to make amends in a more subtle and sohphiscated way)

Kylo ren is a much better character and villian than palpatine...and a return to form in my opinion

Return of the jedi also put the jedi plot (meaningless plot devices) in the forefront of the star wars story

LMAO, you mean the plot that ripped off the original Star Wars by hiding secret information in a droid?

No, just no, your opinion is so sad and naive. Return of the Jedi is a real Star Wars film whereas The Force Awakens is nothing but a fan fiction ripoff disguised as a sequel. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Kylo Ren comes across as nothing more than a millenial baby who needs some play-doh and a safe space or he'll get triggered into chopping up his own room with his lightsaber. Kylo is the most unintimidating villain of the entire Star Wars universe.

To say the acting is worse in ROTJ than TFA is a huge laugh. Young Harrison Ford phoning it in is always better than Old Harrison Ford phoning it in. I guess you completely missed Old Carrie Fisher in TFA, LMAO. Her acting was not better than Young Carrie Fisher.

Oh and why are you comparing the Emperor to Kylo Ren when CGI cartoon Snoke was nothing more than an Emperor ripoff, that's who you should be comparing him to and Snoke was a bad ripoff at that. You should be comparing Kylo to Vader and that is no comparison, Vader in ROTJ is a 1000x better than Kylo in TFA.

ROTJ had awesome action scenes that carried meaning and weight at Jabba's Palace, the Sarlacc Pit, the speeder bike chase on Endor, the greatest space battle ever put to film and the final confrontation between Luke, Vader and the Emperor. TFA had nothing, NOTHING that even compared to these scenes. It had a Mary Sue who was so badly written she never failed at anything and was telling Han Solo how to fly the Millenium Falcon. PATHETIC.

reply

Return of the jedi isn't good

Those "scenes" are pathetic with one having no real stakes...and a lightsaber duel that is poorly choreographed as well as written

Snoke is not a good character...but he isn't the main villian

Palpatine is not a good character but he is the main villian...thus he is worse

Rey has a personality with actual agency

Han solo is a pitiful character who peaked in empire strikes back but just kind of tags along...same applies with leia

it is telling that force awakens has better reviews than return of the jedi (imdb being the only review site to say otherwise).

Return of the jedi is a pitiful film that you only like because of nostalgia...nothing more

reply

No Fin is a pitiful character who does nothing but pant and sweat and make stupid jokes. None of his actions make sense.

And Rey doesn't have a personality you just want to bone her. Her personality is literally the same as every other "tough girl" in every movie ever

reply

Rey has real personality...while han solo was a pitiful "character" who tagged along in return of the jedi

Return of the jedi is fanfiction and the majority agree with me

Thank god the force awakens didn't please you...especially if you think return of the jedi is anything but twilight level trash

reply

All your points are accurate. We also can't forget the random storm trooper who managed to hold his own with a lightsaber against a with lord

reply

I was watching ROTJ recently and discovered that there's one Ewok that I don't mind the look of. I think his name's Teebo (he has a kind of lizard-skull helmet) and he looks kind of feral and mean. I think if they'd all looked like him (the others look like effing Care Bears) it would have been a lot better.

reply

it would be fairly easy to un-kiddify the ewok battle. just show the true extent of the ewok's losses against a superior force. in the movie we see one (1!) ewok die, and his friend has enough time to morn him. compared to the 30+ storm troopers that get killed. If it was shown they were loosing the battle, only to turn things around at the end (thanks mostly to captured AT-ST) then the battle would have felt so much more 'hard earned'. Also we could have the ewoks appear a little more ferocious and blood thirsty would definitely help.

"He's dusted, busted and disgusted, but he's ok"

reply

The ewoks are the least of the films problems

reply

What happened there? George seemed to have no problem showing rebels die.

reply

Return of the jedi is a forgettable film that's only remembered because of its relation to its predassesors...nothing more

reply

Yeah, NO.

reply

Yes

It's very telling that this is the least referenced film of the OT in pop-culture

Hell if the star wars name wasn't in the title it wouldn't be released in theaters

reply

Your jealous because TFA is bigger than return of the jedi...such a sad little b@tch

reply

Troll is obvious.
