A really great movie, not to be missed!

I for one have no idea how the current 6-point-something on imdb comes about, I have to say.
It is a great comedy, with great actors. Most of all, Colin Blakely, whom I'd personally give an Oscar for his interpretation of a sick and paranoid Stalin. In 1983, by the way, when little was known about the real facts. He's 100% believable in that role.
The whole setup is a good, and black, example of dictatorships, how they come about, and what keeps them going.
Plus, as far as history is concerned, it is quite close to what is known from facts. Clearly leave out the last scenes, since in our days the possibility of Beria actually laying hands on the dictator is seen most low. But the rest fits, his sexual appetite, his continuous rapes of girls and daughters of politicians and generals; as well as Stalins records of wrongdoings by his close entourage.
The whole set of scenes in Soviet Russia, the parades, the school kids, the music is authentic (I traveled it in 1980).

And the movie is partly funny, too!

Watched it close to 10 times, and still enjoy it; also Brown and her so stereotypical Yankee questions - and the disarray of Stalin and Beria on the colour of the sky, and the question on 'what good is lesbian for?'
Who could have thought on 'Oh my darling Clementine' as backdrop to a private performance of Stalin? and many more ... .
