CRUELTY TO ANIMALS - Avoid this movie

The director, Bruno Mattei, is a sadistic moron.

In this movie and several others he tortures and kills animals in the name of entertainment. That is not entertaining for me. I'm a life-long horror movie fan, but scenes of living animals being burned alive, crushed, and hacked to bits are not acceptable and only serve to turn me against a movie or a so-called film maker.

If you feel the same way, I highly suggest you avoid this film.

I have just the movie for you... Cannibal Holocaust... you'll love it.

Oh yeah, right, like we don't do horrid things to rats to destroy and remove them from our cities already. Yeah, rats are the kind of animals that we need to protect, like they're some kind of endangered species. When mankind is gone, the rats and roaches will still be around.

I doubt if all those terrible things were done in the way you describe, and besides, not watching the movie won't help any rats now dead from the film, will it? Seems to me like this was filmed more than TWO DECADES AGO! Use you time to protect those creatures who can really use and need protection.

I agree totally, SID -- I like a good gore film too, but have no place for a-holes like Mattei (now thankfully dead) who in any way put an animal at risk, even -- let alone deliberately killing them, and particularly in such horrible ways. The rest of you posters on here -- fools, simple as that.

hey amadlane, THE FILM HAPPENED 2 DECADES AGO!and besides, we already kill rats anyway through exteriminators soooo.

axedoff -- ever spend time around pet rats? They're highly intelligent, inquisitive, and frankly, make great pets. Should they be allowed to breed like, well, rats? No. Take a clue from a country like England, who often nowadays finds humane ways of controlling what can become nuisance animals if left with unchecked population growth.

Hey, respect who is dead, Mattei is not an "a-hole".

I don't think that they really killed any rats while making this movie....

Rats are human beings after all!

Sid, this movie is great. Mattei is a legendary horror director. The movie was made a long time ago, if any rats were harmed (which it doesnt seem like it because of how many fake ones they used), it was made back in the 70's and no dead director is profiting off of harm to animals (similar to cannibal holocaust). Don't embarrass the horror community with uneducated posts like this.

But I like penises.

I don't like when animals are killed just to make a movie either. But boycotting the film/censoring it isn't going to bring them back to life. All we can do is make sure that practice is a thing of the past and no animals should be allowed to be killed onscreen for the production of a film again.

I've been waiting for you, Ben.
