What year was this made?

I watched this movie as a kid, and I looked it up on the Internet, and have found both 1983 and 1985 as the release year for this movie. All sites list the same cast, so one of them is not a re-make. Which date is correct? Thanx!

Filmed summer/fall of 1983 in McMinnville Oregon (MInnville). Shown originally shown on CBS in 1985. So technically both are right.

I played one of the sisters in the movie. It was filmed summer 83 and aired on CBS November of 83.

I lived in McMinnville when this was made, and I was an "extra" in some of the scenes. It was filmed in summer of 1983, and released before the year ended.

They don't list it on here but the timber competition was filmed in Willamina Oregon. I was sixteen when they made this movie and some of my friends were extras in the timber sports scenes. A guy that was a couple years ahead of me in school did the stunt climbing for the actor that played her boyfriend.
