Meg Tilly, beautiful Eurasian girl

Meg Tilly is the daughter of a Chinese-American father and a Canadian woman of Irish, Finnish, and Native Indian heritage. Her parents divorced while she was in childhood and supposedly her mother legally reassumed her maiden surname and had her children change their surnames to her maiden name.

Meg Tilly was a fairly popular actress in her heyday, the early to mid 1980s, and when she was most beautiful. She earned a Golden Globes aware which placed her tantalizingly at the doorstep of the A-list Hollywood actors. But she couldn't follow up with blockbuster movies although she had a string of decent lower-level and B movies and some television acting work. She also took a several years break from Hollywood when she was still in her twenties, which didn't help.

Hollywood and moviegoers considered Meg Tilly something of a white exotic beauty in her heyday. Either it was not widely known or acknowledged that she was Eurasian, even though it was plain to see. Meg Tilly seemed to have that cute, innocent, college coed beauty in her youth that helped take her far into an acting career. She's semi-retired today, as many actors tend to be when they reach her age range, either doing something else with their time but still accepting acting gigs if thrown their way. I'm glad she stays busy with acting and writing.

Meg Tilly came out in the open many years ago and accused her stepfather of sexual abuse. Of Tilly's four, acknowledged published books, two of them deal with the sexual abuse from a sexual predator known to them. Scary. Yet Meg Tilly didn't let it destroy her and I'm awed that she came as far in life as she has despite the obstacles.
