GREAT SEQUEL!

This is a GREAT sequel, it's not better than the original but it sure is close! I think it's the best sequel in the series. Like the original, The film has some strong surprises.
Perkins delivers a REALLY GREAT performance. I think he's better here, than in the original, this time he has more screen time and lines. He's just perfect here as he struggles with his past and suppressing his inner demons. Perkins really delivers.

I'm just now revisiting it for the first time since the 80's. Luckily, I had forgotten the twists and turns of the story and the red herrings, so it was like watching it for the first time. It's pretty darn entertaining! Very good cinematography from the legendary Dean Cundey. It blows the Friday the 13th's and similar slashers from that era out of the water! Nice graphic kills too, and even Dennis Franz doing his usual sleezeball role. Psycho 3 (another fun one to revisit) had more dark humor, but I liked the turns of the story more in 2.
