He was a one-dimensional badass, that's it. He got the happy ending, even though he didnt deserve it.
Robert's wife was the most sympathetic character in the movie, but she lost everything and has to resort to being a prostitute. The daughter's fate is unknown(her last moment in the movie was sort of dark), and everyone else who even was slightly likable died.
So I was disapointed with the ending.

It just goes to show that some stories dont have a happy ending. But Duke is pretty much the anti-hero of the whole Golgo-13 franchise so it seems fair he kills off most of the likeable cast even though they were out to get him.
shareGood points, but there's something you have to keep in mind: Golgo is neither good nor bad. He's simply a man who was hired to do a job...he did the task that was assigned and life goes on for him, even if it does revolve around killing someone.
It's a shame what happened to Dawson's wife too, seeing her end up like that. For Golgo, it's nothing personal, just business. He's like Porter from the movie 'Payback'...he's a bad guy facing other bad guys. In Golgo's world, there's no room for good guys, morals or even high ideals because in his world, those are usually the type of people he has to take down.
I agree; Duke was almost entirely emotionless. However, for this very reason why you didn't like it, was the very same reason I loved it. Togo is almost inhuman, like a machine. I guess the most efficient hitman in the world would have to be, right? Despite his emotionless state, the character is fascinating. It is this very terminator-style demeanor which is what makes the character so mysterious and enigmatic, and therefore more endearing. We'd love to get in there and see what makes him tick, but we never quite do. It is tantalizing.
And yeah, he was a badass.

I thought the ending (and mind you I am 29 in April and saw this movie back in 93/94) was thought Duke couldn't care if she killed him or not
I guess in Duke's world, it all business, no friends, no family, no trust

Personally after watching this, I thought that Duke Togo was awesome but this movie was awful. I was expecting it to be a lot better due to reccomendations I got from friends in the past.
Still got my fingers crossed, waiting for Judas Contract to get green-lit
