I rember seeing this when it came out

I rember watching this when I was a kid back in 1983,this was a made for Showtime movie (pay cable tv,no commercials,)Richard Hatch who played Captain Apollo on the original Battlestar Galactica, plays a Cable Tv Installer,he somehow gets transported to another world,or was it a another dimension,I barely rember the plot, there is some action, some hot looking broad in it as well,I rember one scene where the woman has the Bad Guy right in her sights with her weapon but she can't pull the trigger,I told my friend who I was watching it with that if that was me in that situation I would have blown the dude away and would'nt have thought twice about it.I wish netflix carried this movie,my days of buying DVDS are over I'm already trying the sell all the stuff I have on Ebay because I plan on joing a monastery and becomming a monk in 5 years.

Just saw it, and all I rember is that this film was Saturday Morning Kids Fare. Seems this film has a pretty big cult following, but I can't see the attraction.
And I can't remember how to spell rember... >:o)

I saw this on TV about 22 years ago. I came on right before Predator on Showtime, I think. Anyway, it was a fun, hilarious movie to watch. A couple of years ago, it suddenly came to mind and I was trying to think of the name. All I had were bits and pieces: the couple getting into a near crash and fighting, the machine (at the time I thought they were time-traveling, not going to another Universe), the nut-shot that clanked but the foot stomping that didn't, and Carrie throwing some hard piece of metal at someone to knock him out.

Well, I used keyword search for months on here with no results until I finally got somewhere with "Stomp". I have checked out every time-traveling movie from 1980-1990, only to find that it was Universe-hopping I should have been looking for. :")

Also, when this first came out, I didn't know about the many different styles of martial arts. So when he said 'broken Kendo stick', I thought he said 'broken candlestick.' So, to sum things up, I've been looking for a movie about a candlestick maker who goes back in time, not a Kendo master who goes to another universe. Lol.

This movie must have made an impact on me when I saw it in the mid 80's as I still remember watching it as a kid. I've been looking for this movie for years and today have finally found it. Like you master_angelus I was looking for the wrong things. I remembered the last scene where Malachi cried out for something but I didn't know it was Dan's watch. I thought it was a a Key finder that played a tune when you whistle. Kids have a very active imagination. LOL

:) That sounds like Masters of the Universe. Gwidor's "key" was a musical device and the guy that had it kept whistling the tune.
