The child's behavior, he was just a strange kid all around. And the Trollologs who were cute little monsters who ate meat.

The creatures from Critters are evil and cute. Think along the lines of them.

I don't think so. They're giant furballs with huge teeth! 

Cats are evil but cute.

but I rated The Pit a 10. I grew up watching it and had a impact on me. I had a infatuation about pits and holes and caves and generally anything that could be anywhere closer to hell.

Now as a middle aged man, I have a 25 foot sinkhole behind my house and in the sinkhole, no trollologs but a small cave where the water table levels at. Sometimes I go down there and worship a demon called Mamzar. It helps me out when I'm feeling depressed.

Imagine if you would've discovered emeralds, gold or other gems like old fossils, or geodes? 

I used to wonder what it'd be like to dig real deep in the backyard and uncover dinosaur fossils, or maybe even gold!

I don't know that I could call it a good movie with a straight face. It's certainly capable of entertaining, but good? I don't know. The story doesn't really make sense when you think about it, but the disturbing behavior of Jamie is well acted and compelling enough that you find yourself wanting to see where it's going.

Most of the movie is just focusing on this disturbing behavior and the ambiguity surrounding what you would assume are just various hallucinations of Jamie's, but the later 1/3 or so of the movie just throws that all out the window as if the director decided it was suddenly an entirely other movie and it just becomes completely senseless and ridiculous. I got a good laugh out of it, but I can see how some might find the sudden and sloppy shift in tone a bit off-putting.
