If you liked Papp's version of PENZANCE, you've GOT to check out the Original Cast Recording of FORBIDDEN BROADWAY, Gerald Alessandrini's hilarious cabaret spoof of everything Broadway, which has been annually updated for over 20 years... on the FIRST recording, three performers spoof Kevin Kline, Rex Smith and Linda Rondstadt to absolutely pee-inducing laughter! This segment is worth the price of the recording alone, not to mention the many other shows and performers they ridicule: ANNIE, EVITA, AMADEUS, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, Mary Martin/Ethel Merman, NINE, and many others.

I love 'Forbidden Broadway' and wrote an article on the 8th CD recently for uni. I particularly love the Rondstadt send-up; the bit about the microphones is just hilarious! Yay for Alessandri!!!
