I have always enjoyed Kevin Kline's acting, but I don't usually find myself drooling over him, you know? There is just something about that furry chest peeking out of that puffy shirt, those above the knee boots and the moves (especially during the "with cat like tread" part!!) that really works for him! Obviously, if he walked around dressed that way as a rule, it would just be weird and creepy, but in context......DAMN!!!!!!!

No kidding. Especially with tears in his eyes...

In the same way that I found Tim Curry extremely sexy in Muppet Treasure Island, and how most of the females on earth find Johnny Depp so hot in the PotC movies. Pirates are sexy

I keep channel surfing on to this movie lately and I still find myself having the same reaction every time! It took many viewings to even notice that Rex Smith is jumping over his sword while Kevin Kline is doing that one famous Russian dance move (I don't know how to describe it) during "With Cat Like Tread", because I was always so totally focused on Kline!

I do not have attention deficit disor...Ooh, look at the bunny!

I agree one hundred percent with that.

I made the mistake of saying that to one of my friends once and I have yet to live it down. People just don't seem to get it that he was hot in that movie.

Agreed! This role was magic for him. He can sing, dance, act, do comedy and he looks AMAZING! Everytime I watch this movie I totally crush on him.

I haven't been on this thread for 4 years but the minute I saw the e-mail saying someone had replied to my thread "Kevin Kline" I remembered what it was about! Glad to know people are still appreciating The Pirate King!!

Hurrah for the Pirate King! Kevin Kline IS the pirate king. :) I agree with all of the above comments and just have to add that this play/movie is so much FUN!

I don't know about Kevin Kline, but I thought Linda Ronstadt was the cutest thing ever when I first saw this movie.

It's funny, because even as a little girl my eyes were always glued to Kevin. My sister and cousin would shriek and rewind all of the Frederic parts, while I quietly obsessed over The Pirate King. Incredible sexy. :) I love Rex Smith too, but there's just something about Kevin in this movie.
