Film about Phar Lap's reincarnation?

I saw a film once, years and years ago, about a girl who was the reincarnation of Phar Lap. All I really remember about it is the schoolchildren all going on a trip to the museum to see the stuffed Phar Lap, and this girl not wanting to go. When asked why, she said: "Because it's my body. I was Phar Lap. I'm living this life so I don't get conceited."

Anybody have any idea what this film was called or what happened in the end?
