This was the first movie that I can *remember* seeing. I would have been about 5 or 6 years old and I remembering crying and crying after Phar Lap died. I wish I could see it now so that I'd maybe understand more of what was going on. It's been about 16 years since I saw this film and I still think about it often. What a horse!

Hi I was an extra on the movie,had a ball.It was shot all over sydney,i was in the MEXICO bit which was shot in the SNOWY MOUNTAINS near JINDABYNE,It was the only place they could find that looked like mexico......kind reguards JOHN HENRY.
shareI too was an extra in the movie, but at Flemington Racecourse, i lined up with all the other ppl, waiting to put my name down, finally i got to the desk, and the woman behind it said, "We have too many poor people for the scenes, how would you like to be a dignitary person?"
I was dressed in a 3-piece suit, top hat and tails, rode in a vintage car to the racecourse, walked around like a rich person, with a lady on my arm.
One days filming, and i made about $120
