film's votes

I wonder why this film has more votes here than any other Rohmer's except for Clair's Knee and My Night at Maud's. It doesn't have anything that makes it more special or more interesting, even though I think Rohmer is the kind of director whom works seem as if they made only one long movie, the same idea presented in different ways. Anyway, there isn't a Rohmer's movie that I didn't like, and I have seen more than 10 of them so far, but this movie being more popular than The Aviator's Wife for example doesn't really make sense to me.

To me it seems not only more light hearted than some of Rohmer’s work, where the serious undertones can be a bit more evident, but also less prim, showing good-looking women with little or no clothes who are on or in beds with men.

Conte d'été (A Summer's Tale) is currently rated slightly higher (7.7 to 7.5 for Pauline). I think that's correct - Conte d'été feels like a more sophisticated version of this story.
