Soundtrack

In the U.S., A&M Records released a vinyl LP soundtrack , and here is the track listing:

Party Party --Elvis Costello
Run Rudolph Run --Dave Edmunds
Little Town Flirt --Altered Images
Yakety Yak --Bad Manners
Tutti Frutti --Sting
No Feelings --Bananarama
Driving In My Car --Madness
Band Of Gold --Modern Romance
Elizabethan Reggae --Bad Manners
No Woman, No Cry --Pauline Black
Need Your Love So Bad --Sting
The Man Who Sold The World --Midge Ure
Auld Lang Syne --Chas And Dave

This soundtrack is an AMAZING one! Important icons of the new wave scene are here with rare recordings you just won't find anywhere else...And since artists like Elvis Costello and Sting are still going strong (also with a compilation of Altered Images out now), these earlier recordings by them are classic. It's a shame there aren't remastered CDs released for this and the soundtrack to "Starstruck" ...

Wow, I had that album when I was a kid, I didn't even realise it was a soundtrack till just now. I only found out about the film after listening to Perry Fenwick on the radio, don't live in the UK anymore so don't have any hope of seeing it really, never mind, good record though.

"No Feelings" by Bananarama - one of the best songs ever if you ask me! =P

its funny ive owned several copys of this soundtrack on vinyl over the years and ive always loved it,but being from the states[maine],ive never had the opportunity to see it.
ive e-mailed bbc america several times hoping they might play it,but they never do.
also another great soundtrack is the one to a film called 'that summer',it has loads of early classic punk/and new wave songs, yet again ive never seen the movie.

I'm going to have to take my vinyl copy (still in pretty good shape) and transfer it onto CD. It is an amazing soundtrack, and why A&M hasn't issued a CD (even if the film does suck) is beyond me. Simply look at the personnel on the soundtrack, the rarity of the tracks, and the holiday nature of some of the tunes and it'd be a sure-fire winner.

Anyway.
