If this is a sequel to Three the Hard Way, then why do the characters have different names? Why is it that Jimmy Lait is J, Jimmy Lait is Cal, and Mister Keyes is Chuck?

Were the movies made by different companies? Is that why the name changes were necessary?

It says in the trivia section that Fred Williamson considers the film to be a sequel to Three the Hard Way. I guess maybe it's a spiritual successor?
