If you want pristine 1080 clarity, sorry, it hasn't happened yet (it was transferred to disc right around the time when companies were beginning to upgrade their equipment), but the Shriek Show special edition DVD set has an undeserved bad reputation. It's widescreen and the picture's clear enough to make out details which were murky on VHS. There is some speckling throughout, but it makes it feel like you're watching it in the theatre (and it's good that Shriek Show didn't try to digitally clean it up -- they tried filters with others like "Warlock Moon" and really screwed up the picture). The dvd set includes a commentary with the buddies who wrote and directed the film, 40 minutes of behind the scenes video footage and an unfinalized director's workprint (dubbed from video) with alternate and deleted footage galore. It'd be nice if it got a Scream Factory upgraded transfer, but for a mostly forgotten low-budget 80s horror flick, this was hardly a lousy release. Quite frankly it looks better and boasts more extras than any release of the much more well-known "Prom Night."
