So much good & bad in this movie

You take the great parts and the bad parts of this movie and combine them for a mixed bag of a movie. Octopussy ranks somewhere in the middle of Bond movies ranked between 12-24.

The Bad:

The whole escape from Kamal's palace was cheesy and awful. Starting with Bond making undead noises when first escapes, telling the Tiger to sit, telling the snake to hiss off, climaxing with the awful Tarzan scream.

The second is seeing James Bond dressed up as a clown when he is on the US Airforce base looking for the bomb.

The Good:
Pre credit title sequence with the plane escape, the hot air balloon assault on the palace, the climax with Bond jumping on the plane to save Octopussy. "Its all in the wrists" is a pretty memorable part too.

Throw in some standard Bond scenes with M & Q, some boring parts and you have the most up and down Bond movie ever.

I just watched For your eyes only, The spy who loved me and Octopussy one after the other and I have to say, I feel like Octopussy was the best of the three of them. The middle act drags a bit but the 1st act is really strong and the final act was decent. Octopussy at least had a cohesive story whereas FYEO and TSWLM just try to jam as many locations in the story as possible. Overall, I think Moore's Bond films were just lackluster in general.
