Why is there so much fog?

Why is there so much fog in the movie? Did they use too much dry ice or was the forest itself that way?

maybe it was a bad version of silent hill

They paid for the fog, they're gonna use it!

reply

The movie was so bad they were making a smoke screen to hide it.

reply

Because the fog remover was broken.

reply

They used the fog to influence the mood of the scene. Probably to make it more mysterious and suspenseful feeling.

They didnt do a good job at it, but it was clearly to enhance the mood.

reply

Even "The Fog" didn't have this much fog...

That is not fog, it is pot smoke.
The filmmakers must have been high while making this crapfest.

reply

That would explain a lot.

reply

Because JJ Abrams hadn't invented lens flare yet.

The fog was there so you couldn't see the lousy special effects and bad acting.

reply

I'm going to go with badly implemented mood setting AND it being this director's version of JJ Abrams lens flare. Hwe clearly had a bone in his pants for it.
