The Witness (Minor Spoilers)

Was extremely surprised to see the ending of this film appear in the video game "The Witness." Jonathan Blow has guts to link his video game design philosophy / the player trying to complete his game to Tarkovsky's candle scene. It feels like an arrogant move, not to mention just wrong that the scene is presented with butchered visual and audio quality, out of context.

Thoughts?

I don't have any problem with it. I also realize that the vast majority of people wouldn't have any clue what that was. As soon as I saw it I was super excited, just because I love Tarkovsky movies and it was nice to see it get recognition in an unusual place. I don't see it as arrogant, more like showing an influence on the creator of the game.
