Why wasn't Norman home when they tried dropping Aunt Edna off to his residence?

If they were gonna be dropping Aunt Edna off to Norman's residence then how come he wasn't home?

reply

They didn't have mobile phones back then, maybe he went out to get some milk in case Edna wanted tea.

Didint he leave a note on the door? Clark reads it a d says something like what a worm?

reply

I can't remember because it's been a long time since I last watched this movie.

In National Lampoon's Vacation when Clark and Ellen dropped Aunt Edna off at Ellen's cousin's house it is mentioned that Cousin Norman is in Flagstaff on business and wouldn't return until the next week. So the Griswold's had no choice but to leave Aunt Edna in a lawn chair in his backyard but they should've known that Aunt Edna wasn't feeling well at first during the trip to Phoenix and should've checked on her because the Arizona weather can be hot and Clark would've called someone to tell about Aunt Edna's poor health instead of Ellen freaking out about Aunt Edna's death. But you got to admit Clark's farewell to Aunt Edna was pretty funny

It doesn't look like such a big loss.

Can anyone genuinely like Edna? I think even Jesus would struggle.

If that was MY mother, aunt, sister, brother or siamese twin, I would be 100% relieved she's gone.
