Is there a book about this?
Does anyone know if there is a book I can buy and read about these events?
shareI remember that someone posted that there was a book based on this event and other stories about dogs in Japan. I think it was called "Paw Prints in Japan", but I'm not 100% sure on the title.

Yep, the book is -Pawprints in Japan-, it's sort of easy to find copies thru Google search (the national Akita club sells it); and in it, one finds that even the original film's producers didn't get the entire story right. Which isn't a terrible thing, just worth noting.
