Is this in anyone else's favorite comedy list?

This has got to be in my list of favorite comedies, maybe even in my Top 5. Does anyone else love this movie as much as I do?

reply

I do.... It is definitely in my top comedies. Micheal Keaton gets two thumbs up for his performance. He was great. Unfortunately not that popular among today's movie buffs, but a funny movie.

For an 80s comedy, it's not bad - more in the 'watch once every twenty years or so' category. It is definitely no:

Monty Python & The Holy Grail
Pink Panther
Bringing Up Baby
Harold Lloyd (choose one)
Road to (again, choose one)

Yes. This movie is a hands-down, stone-cold classic. The negative reviews just mystify me. I love Mr. Mom.

Let me tell you about flannel...

YES!! I love this movie. I saw it in 1983 (when I was 8) with my mom and my grandmother. Grandma hated it. Thought it was WAY to "racy" and crude.

I'm watching this for the second time in just a few months, streaming on Amazon. I remember watching it every time I could on HBO and Cinemax, and seeing it in the theater. It's a nice slice of life from that year, with the clothes, the toys, the references.

If I were to make an all time favorite comedy list, Mr. Mom would be on there somewhere. I loved this film as a kid. And I still enjoy it.

One of the best comedies of all time in my book.
Michael Keaton, a remarkable actor and the rest of the cast, top-notch.

There is no doubt that Mr. Mom is an iconic, classic '80s feel-good comedy that helped make Michael Keaton a star. Its themes still resonate, it has dozens of quotable lines, and it is eminently re-watchable. Oh yeah, it's very funny too.

I don't know exactly where it sits on my list of favorite comedies, but I can see why it would be up there on anybody's list.

I love it. One of my favorite movies, not just comedies.
