Disco Breakdown

Hi there,

I wondered if anyone of you could help me about the disco breakdown in the musical number in heaven: this is an often used motif as I see it - for example it's also in the opening musical number in "Death Becomes Her" and some TV shows.

I wondered if there is a clear movie or show this kind of breakdown is a reference to?!

I mean the scene in TMOL obviously is about decadent hedonism so I figure it incorporates disco because of that.
