I'm thinking of a movie where Jason Robards plays a reporter who never seems to be around for his family or friends. Also, does this movie has an occasional animated character pop up in it, or is it some other Robards movie I am thinking of?
shareNo on the first (although his character here is estranged from his family), yes on the second -- the Max Dugan character is animated in the opening and closing fade-out and credits. Great, overlooked minor comedy, easily Neil Simon's best, with a superb and deeply human performance by Robards.
