I simply love this movie. I have it on dvd and just snagged it on dvr. My 15 and 7 year old even love it. Simple movie but I will love it forever.
shareMy Mom and I loved this movie so much. We WERE the Marsha Mason and Matthew Broderick characters! We never had a knight in shining armour visit us in the night with a huge amount of money, but we had the closeness that they shared. The chemistry between the cast is superb.

It's such an endearing movie! It's funny, sweet, sentimental, and all around enjoyable to watch. I recall watching it quite a bit as a kid growing up in the '80s. It was always on HBO! I hadn't seen it in years, but recently caught a viewing on Netflix. I was surprised how much I still loved it. Matthew Broderick is so friggin adorable as Michael. It's a shame this movie didn't do better at the box office because it's absolutely classic. I remember always wanting a Gus Wickenstein to arrive at my door bringing me tons of new appliances and a mercedes. Great flick!!
