Wasn't Ben (the Gardener) and the demon who laughs at the end the same?

At the very end the doctor tells the guy in the cloak that nobody is to go into the mausoleum, and the demon guy nods yes. Isn't this "Ben" (mustache guy who used the axe and was the gardener at the beginning?

They look exactly alike yet are credited as two different people?

Any insight?

That was the impression I was under as well: The guy at the end was a bit thinner than the gardener but unless they wanted us to conclude they were the same person the filmmakers made a mistake in casting someone who looks the same.

The guy at the end wasn't the final demon. That WAS Ben the Gardner laughing at the end. The "final demon" was the demon in the mausoleum.

And I explained why Ben was laughing here:

Thanks, I always kinda figured that was Ben the Gardener at the end. That gardener guy cracked me up.

What was the point of Ben at the end though, laughing on the tombstone, dressed in a robe. I mean, we assume has was dead from earlier, but he didnt look ghostly or anything at the end?..

Or is that just part of the mysticism of the film?

Thanks..

I don't know how or why Ben should turn up at the end. But it's a good creepy touch.
