Anyone else out there think Jamie Lee's performance in "Love Letters" ranks among the greatest female performances of all time? It is so brave and uncompromising, it made me realize what a talent she is.

shareI saw this in an Arthouse in Chicago when it was new.
The funny thing is, at some point JLC rips her shirt off, and someone in the audience audibly gasped. Some of us chuckled. It was done somewhat tastefully, this wasn't an exploitive film, but when some person reacted like that, I'll always remember.
I'm not a woman much less Deanna Durbin, but the old-time glam-shot appeals to me.
