No DVD release?

I haven't watched this film yet, I went to HMV and asked if they had it and the guy said no and that it was only ever released on VHS! Is that true?

Hardly. Check Amazon or any other major online seller.

My copy is. Some may criticize its "lo-fi" transfer, but to me that's the beauty of it!

Also contains the following bonus features: rescued beta tape footage of cast rehearsals, promo ads/trailers and alternate intro.

DVD, with extra scenes, was released by WINTERtainment in 2000. Authentic release now OOP.

Most recent release was August 2005, and is still available. I bought a new copy from amazon.ca August 2009 and just watched it last night. Hadn't seen it since 1982. Great fun!

I'm not sure why people are experiencing difficulties finding this film on DVD.

It was released in 2000 by Wintertainment in cooperation with Telavista Studio.

It's been available for quite some time now at Amazon and various retail outlets.

For those concerned about the picture quality; I can verify it looks fine.
