I've watched this movie under various influences...
LSD, MDMA, Coke, Special K, Mushrooms, Hash, Pot, Booze...you name it, I've watched this movie while on it...EXCEPT, oddly enough, Heroin! I credit this movie and many others for being turned off to that one particular drug. It's a NASTY habit...and a deadly one. And that brings us here to Liquid Sky.
This movie is also a NASTY habit, not quite a deadly one, but VERY addictive to watch.
It's not for the timid, however. There are some VERY strong themes and language that make it unwatchable by the squeamish. But I have to give it an A+++ on the Christmas Story rating scale. It's just so brilliantly done. It's a train wreck that you can peel your eyes away from. Brilliant, moving, fluid colors...really quite good acting by a variety of folks and unbelievably well produced for its time, budget, resources etc.
It DOES need a digitally remastered DVD and right quick! This is how a MOVIE is supposed to be made...on blood, spit, grease, sweat and tears.
The soundtrack alone is worth a buy. I've treasured mine for decades and will continue to to do.
Until you've seen Liquid Sky, your movie viewing time on this Earth will not be complete.
