Better than 6.0

Not a masterpiece but a great 80s movie space adventure!

I disagree. "Krull" is an underrated fantasy epic.

reply

Its only underrated if youve still got a mind and maturity of a 7 year old, yeah.

It's superior to "Man of Steel" - an excremental movie which you like.

MoS was a hit (and they are making a sequel too) while Krull was a critical and commercial flop- that pretty much proves how good your taste in movies is. 

The people that badmouth KRULL are really the people that love it most and have the complete Krull collection.

Man of Steel was a long Home Depot commercial. That movie was so terrible I was fidgeting in my seat after 20 minutes in. I was forced to ensure it for my family. I hope BM v SM isn't another commercial. The product placement of MOS was ridiculous.

Krull is silly fantasy 80s fun.

I just saw it over the Christmas holiday for the first time in probably 20-25 years, and for the first time as an adult. And while I didn't care for it much as a kid I really enjoyed it this time. As a kid I don't think it was sci-fi enough for me, which was mainly what I was interested in. I think it was a little dark/moody for me as well, on top of being VERY British. Something I wasn't very used to at the time, but I've seen a lot of British films/television in the years since, so it feels a lot less awkward now. It wasn't perfect though, my main problem was the lack of a strong villain. The Beast was pretty lame, which made the final showdown pretty lame. And it dragged on with him not being able to get the Glaive out and the silly love flame thing. It doesn't finish strong, but I really enjoyed it overall.

"Dan Marino should die of gonorrhea and rot in hell. Would you like a cookie son?"

It's a so-so film. Saw it with a friend, and we gave the movie a big thumbs down when the flame mares came.

In retrospect that was probably a bit harsh. It is kind of fun, and a well put together movie.

Exceptionally well shot.

It's one of my all time favorite guilty pleasure movies, watch it all the time. Completely underrated. It's funny listening to the complaints about it from the people who hate it like SeussMeIdiot. Lol

I think six is about right.

I only caught the last hour. But in the part I saw, there was bad acting, bad special effects and bad sets. Some of the sets looked fake --- too clean, not realistic.

And there were stupid parts like, they rode flying horses to the monster's mountain lair. But then they have to get off the horses and climb the cliff to get to the cave entrances. They had flying horses, why not fly the horses to the cave entrances?

And the monster looked bad. Usually it was in blurry vision. It looked and moved like a man in a monster suit.

Often the hero looked like he just stepped out of the shower. His hair was combed with a modern haircut, well groomed, no sweat even though he was on a difficult quest to save his girlfriend.

And it is kind of corny. Love actually kills the monster.

This is definitely a B movie. Sunday morning fare. I think it was made for kids.

6.1 is an awfully low rating for a great little film.
