If they remade it who would you want to see in the roles?

I only hit the main characters.

Prince Colwyn: Chris Pratt
Princess Lyssa: Natalie Dormer
Ynyr: Liam Neeson
Widow of the Web: Angelina Jolie
Torquil: Hugo Weaving
Ergo: Martin Freeman
Kegan: Lee Pace
Cyclops: Jason Momoa
Seer: Ian McKellen
Titch: Issac Hempstead Wright
The Beast (Voice): Benedict Cumberbatch

I'm normally not for remakes, but DAMN if that cast wouldn't be entertaining as hell!

Probably more of a British cast with a more manageable budget but here goes:-

Prince Colwyn Charlie Hunnam
Princess Lyssa Imogen Poots
Ynyr Roger Allam
Torquil Kevin McKidd
Ergo Matt Smith
Kegan Matthew McNulty
Cyclops Dolph Lundgren
Seer Christopher Lee
Titch *Unknown*
Widow of the Web Hayley Atwell
The Beast (Voice) Keith David

Hi, I'm Shelley's new boyfriend and I'm out of my mind

Cast Benedict Cumberbatch as the Beast instead. But that’s not bad at all.

reply

i wouldn't want to see a remake-are you daft? The movie is too new to remake AND is perfect as it is

reply

A severly underrated movie...would love and hate to see it remade

Friends don't let friends drink and post.

Thoughts exactly.

I would love to see it remade, I like your choices. Be fun to see Liam Neeson play Ynyr to come back to the franchise. How about Vinnie Jones playing Rhun? Gerard Butler as Kegan would be cool too.

I agree with you, jnericsonx, especially since so many of these cast members have had roles in the movie adaptions of J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy literary treasures and that Worst-Movie-Ever would actually pick Angelina Jolie to be the Widow of the Web. (HHHHMMMM, I wonder why? )

I don't know about a remake for this movie, but I still believe that there is a potential for a prequel for it - most likely in comic book or novel form though - since nowadays, this movie is almost completely forgotten. There is lots of material leading up to this sci fantasy version of the classic Prince/Knight-Rescues-The-Damsel-In-Distress-From-A-Dragon/Monster genre. Here is what I pulled out of Krull (1983):

1. The Origins of the Beast Himself. Obviously, if he and his Slayer Puppet-Troops are serial conquerors of different worlds, then he himself must have existed for Eons/Millennia perhaps; he may even be the The Devil Himself made flesh (?).  Also, wouldn't there be more aliens - or demons - like him? 
2. How the Black Fortress was constructed, along with how Slayers and (Humanoid) Changeling Infil-TRAITORS are created.
3. How the Beast originally double-crossed Rell the Cyclops's ancestors, thus making both sides sworn enemies.
4. Perhaps a brief view of some of the other worlds that have come under control of the Beast - and exactly how people on Krull seemed to know about these extraterrestrials and what happens on other worlds even though they were stuck in their own medieval period with almost no telescopes. (I presume that all of this knowledge comes from sorcerors like the Emerald Seer, am I right or wrong?)
5. The ancient conflicts amongst the Kingdoms of Krull - such as Turold's, Eirig's and the others - prior to the Arrival of the Black Fortress and the attacks of the Slayer Hordes. (Remember, the Kings of Krull were not exactly best friends amongst themselves, either.)
6. Ynyr's personal story involving the other Lyssa, the Widow of the Web. (Yes, more juicy romance! )

I was able to pull six backstories out of this movie just like that. Also, if Prince Colwyn, however, failed to rescue Lyssa from the Black Fortress, I wonder what the resultant - well - offspring would have looked/been like if the Princess Bride finally decided to 'hook up' with her Evil Captor? Now some of you may/may not already have the answers to some of my ideas, so I welcome all input and answers. Let me know something as soon as you can. Thank you!

Here are some of my favorite quotes from this movie as well:

Alien Overlord: "You have chosen a paltry kingdom on an insignificant planet."
Captive Bride: "...And Love."
Alien Overlord: "Love is fleeting; Power is eternal. Such is my power. It can be yours."
Captive Bride: "I don't want your power."
Alien Overlord: "Do not let my form frighten you."
Captive Bride: "It is YOU who are betrayed. Power is fleeting; Love is eternal."
Alien Overlord: "Consider this power. If you consent to be my Queen, I will halt the attacks of the Slayers. It is in YOUR power 2 stop the killing and burning. Each hour you delay, more innocent people will be killed. Think on it."

Old One: "Death and Power are close cousins."
Pompous Wizard: "I am Ergo the magnificent. Short in stature, tall in power, narrow of purpose and wide of vision. And I do not travel with peasants and beggars. Goodbye!"

Nobody! Yes I admit Krull is dated but I love it the way it is, I would never want a remake.

Besides James Horner wouldn’t be around to expand on his AWESOME (and very underrated) Krull score so it wouldn’t work.

Love this 1983 classic.
