Appropriate for kids?

I really liked this movie when I was young--I was 11 when it came out--but I don't remember it too well. I was thinking about watching it with my kids, but was wondering if it was OK for a 7 year old. I appreciate any help!

Thanks

I saw Krull when I was 9, and I can't think of a single objectionable thing about it. Certainly nothing that would make a modern 7 year old blink. The baddies could possibly scare a (very) sensitive kid, but TBH any kid who finds Krull too intense is probably in for some serious trouble in life.

I don't know. I saw it as a kid, but as an adult I was a little surprised by how many characters died. And died badly. It was a little bit shocking. They set out with a pretty large party and very few survive. Most of the deaths aren't too bad, but some are pretty sad, like the quicksand and door crushing. Especially the latter. One of the more likable characters in the film dies a pretty horrific death.

There is lots violence and death. But no graphic blood and guts. Other than that, no sex, nudity or profanity. I would say it was made for kids. But, your kids, your decision.

It came out when I was seven, and I wasn't allowed to see it. I finally got a chance to see it last night after having many years of difficulty trying to get it from the public library. It was a bit violent for young children, but not too bad, nor was the Beast any more frightening than what is on the poster.

It's on you tube . Not a bad copy either .

I was about 7 or 8 when I saw this movie, and it terrified me. I certainly wouldn't recommend it for a 7 year-old, but then again, every child is different. I've met people who were terrified of the flying monkeys from "The Wizard of Oz" when they were little, and they never bothered me. One could argue that movies like "The Neverending Story" or "The Dark Crystal" can be frightening, but I've loved those movies from a very early age. You would know your children better than anyone and what they can or can't handle. :)

P.S. It just occurred to me this was more than a year ago, so I'm sure your kid has already seen this. :)

I was about 7 when I watched krull religiously . How I loved it at that age. If have no problem letting a child view it . I used to get scared a bit when the seer attacked and then was killed . He looked scary at that age .
