Does anybody know the name of the font on the poster for the film and the beginning title sequence? Also, does anybody know where I can get that font? I am going to use it for a project on UFOs.

I don't know, but for some reason, I've always thought it looks like the same font as the one used in Predator.

It is called ITC Machine. It is available in two weights, Regular and Bold. Most type suppliers (Adobe, Monotype, Fonts.com, etc.) offer this typeface for use on all computer platforms.
