The ending??

AHOY! THERE BE SPOILERS!!

The ending was a little confusing to me...once Scott Glenn had defeated the bad guy, why would he be sucked into the same prison chamber that had held the bad guy for thousands of years?

Haven't read the book, so maybe someone can enlighten me.

this is an extended cut of the ending, shows a little more of what happened, and is more
true to the book. enjoy.

They should hand this movie out with a Bible. Scott Glenn slept with the woman. Fallen angel and ends up in the abyss with the creature. Sex and violence. Didn't know how good this movie was when i saw it first. Why are the best movies hardly seen by the masses?

The ending is different in the movie than the book as are many things yet the movie is consistent with its own tone.

The ending of the movie: when Glenn kills Molasar, Glenn dies too as he is a construct and his sole purpose was to kill Molasar.

The original ending from the book: when Glenn kills Molasar, Glenn looses his immortality, as both he and Molasar were once mortal.

Well, just read the novel and actually the epilogue of the book shows Glenn surviving and the father dies contrary to the movie. And Glenn kills Molasar (or Rasalom as he is properly called) with the sword as they fall into the gorge around the Keep. it doesn't mention him losing his mortality though that might be logical enough.
