30th anniversary dvd!

Looking forward to getting this dvd....
From what i heard it will have a commentary with Director Greydon Clark.
Can't wait to hear what he has to say about making the movie.
I remember seeing this on cable in the early eighties when I was a teenager.
AHHH the good old days how I miss them.

I got my copy in the mail today. Looking forward to checking this out.

The DVD has both a commentary and interview with Clark.

I'd like to see Scorpion put his slasher spoof "Wacko" on DVD.

What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!

I just saw this on Amazon. Please report back with more info!

Will do. I'll watch it sometime this week.

The disc features an excellent widescreen print. I haven't seen the movie on the earlier DVD release, but I can probably safely assume the difference in the transfers is substantial. Will return when I've checked out the bonus features.

GREATLY SUBSTANTIAL!
The previous bare-bones release looked like a vhs transfer.
In fact I own "collector" transfers that looked better.
But thank you to Scorpion it looks great & nice unexpected extras.
Now if only somebody would get around the music rights to The Surf II & release it!

The old DVD actually looked worse than my VHS copy. I'll definitely pick up this new one. Thanks for the reports, everyone.

I will have to pick this up also!

No Blu-ray? Classic flicks like this deserve a high definition release, Blu-ray's 6 years old already so cost isn't an issue anymore.

I'm really glad I came here. I was searching for this on Amazon and saw that there were two different DVD releases, which struck me as odd for a film like this. I went to its wiki and read that the first one got pulled from shelves over rights issues of some sort. Back on Amazon they had copies of the older release for a few bucks cheaper and almost pulled the trigger, but I was curious if there were any differences quality-wise. Sounds like it's a no-brainer to go with the anniversary edition.

He went to Bespin Luke Skywalker, but he left Hand Solo
