Jaws 3-D vs. Jaws The Revenge

Which one do you reckon is worse? I absoloutely hate them both but Jaws 3-D a little bit more. Make sure after you reply you however many people have voted on Jaws 3-D/Jaws 4.

Jaws 3-D: 1
Jaws 4: 0

JAWS: THE REVENGE is worse, but I don't hate it. It certainly feels more like a sequel to the first two, but I find 3 to be a lot more fun. It's the kind of film that grows on you.

Jaws 3: 1
Jaws 4: 1

Jaws 3 has less embarrassing moments. I can live with the shark swimming backwards, it doesn’t happen on screen and it’s not common knowledge that they don’t have the ability to do so. The only truly embarrassing part was the motionless shark breaking the waterproof glass.

Jaws the revenge the entire plot of the shark seeking revenge, swimming from amity to Bahamas within days is embarrassing. The finale with the shark roaring, standing on its tail and blowing up for no apparent reason along with Jake somehow surviving being in the great whites mouth is embarrassingly stupid along with the plot to land a plane in the water, jump in the water where there’s clearly a shark and emerge with dry clothes.

Absolutely, 100%, I'm with you on that one.

Can't, I'm afraid. Matinee of Le Miz. Christ, I'll call you.

I actually like Jaws 3-D. It's very unnecessary, and silly. Still, it's fun, and I enjoy the cast. Some of the production values were great too. That said, I HATE Jaws: The Revenge. It's an utter embarrassment.

I thought they were cheap and lazy. Which ones are you thinking of that were good?

reply

Details. The miniatures of the Undersea Kingdom, the complete production design. Alan Parker's score was brilliant, the cast did great with what they had, and the disaster movie angle, for me, was great because when Mama is loose, it's simply terrifying!

Then the lead characters argue over morality versus big bucks, and that is very interesting character study.

I definitely prefer Jaws 3-D. Better scuba scenes, and Bess Armstrong looked way hot in that blue wetsuit.

Apart from the shark breaking the glass then freezing, I'll only comment that they stole the ending from another movie (Great White/L'Ultimo Squalo) who in turn stole it from yet another movie (Up From The Depths)! All three movies kill the menacing sea creature with the use of a dead scuba diver carrying explosives.

I suppose that's part of the fun, but it does seem slightly peculiar, maybe even shameful, that the original franchise everyone else was emulating had now stooped to imitating the imitators, to a degree.

Jaws the Revenge makes me laugh, it's a so bad it's good kind of film. It's incompatibly made that I had blast watching the awfulness of it.

Jaws 3-D was just straight up boring the ONLY thing it has going for it is a creative location.

There is no question.... JAWS 3D is lightyears ahead of The Revenge. It's not even close.

reply

they're both really good but i give Jaws the Revenge the edge

reply

Jaws 3 is much worse than the revenge.

reply

Jaws 3 is the lesser of two evils, but only barely. It at least has some B-movie, so bad its good, elements that make me laugh.
