"Out of China"?

Is it me, or does the love theme in Barry score for this movie sound like a warm-up to/draft of the now-classic central theme of Out of Africa, which he won an Oscar for a few years later?

reply

He did score both films, so there's bound to be some similarities.

 Why are there BOUND to be similarities? He scored many films whose scores don't have any similarities between their themes.

Actually there are a lot of similarities between his scores. In fact lots of composers have this in common. It's what allows you to recognize them. This movie and the living daylights and dances with Wolves absolutely have similar melodies or references from each other on parts.

Because it's the SAME PERSON SCORING BOTH FILMS.
