A good explanation for why Halloween III was "doomed from the onset"

https://www.datalounge.com/thread/27174431-halloween-movie-franchise-discussion

Halloween III was doomed from the outset as they for some reason hired Nigel Kneale, the very sophisticated and very British creator of the science fiction Quatermass series, to somehow create something that would fit this very American gore franchise, then when they realized it wouldn’t work took the project away from the master and tried to clumsily revise it into something US audiences might relate to more. Kneales original concept of an Irish Celtic fundamentalist terrorist getting revenge on Americans for commercializing the sacred ancient holiday of Samhain is freaking brilliant.

Not really "brilliant", I find the idea of a straight-up mass sacrifice of children in some witchcraft/pagan festival that hasn't occurred for 3000 years to be much more interesting. It's just the concept of using Stonehenge mystical power (or something) and advanced mechanical robots that brings it down a bit.
