Do you think the real Ellie was killed or do you think she was locked away to be killed somewhere in the factory? If that is the case, do you think ELlie could have escaped the burning building? Also, do you think anyone found the remains of Buddy Cupher's family or Marge or the homeless guy?
The fire destroyed everything within it. And Ellie was processed just like the other former humans (like the guys in suits) and (I guess) gutted and replaced with wires and clockwork. Why replicate human skin and bone when you've got a perfectly good body to begin with?
I didn't know they made the robots from the carcasses of people they killed. I just thought assassins killed people and left them there. So, Buddy and his family and Marge were going to be robots?

However, regarding Cochran's choosing his victims, you think he once had humans working for him and then as the time drew near, he began killing them or using them as test subjects? Maybe that is why the town was so empty. However, what about the homeless guy and Teddy. Do you think they were to be turned into RObots?

After seeing her son turned into insects and reptiles, yes.

Yes, they worked for him, until he revealed his evil plan to them and some resisted, so those that did were converted to become his robot slaves. He said himself in the movie that the robots were obedient and followed his orders.

I think they wanted a plot twist and pulled that out of their behinds.
For Ellie to be killed and replaced somehow so late in the game didn't make a lot of sense.
Okay, but you know that the next day that place would be investigated. Do you think they would have found the bodies of murdered people there?
