Hey I was wondering if this movie is similar to Deathsport? After watching the trailer they look like each other. I am a big fan of Lucio Fulci (well at least his horror movies) and I liked Deathsport, so I was very curious about this.
shareI wouldn't be surprised if "Deathsport" did indeed partially inspire "The New Gladiators;" the Italians are always lifting bits and pieces from other films, which is one of the things I enjoy about Italian exploitation cinema. Half the fun of watching these flicks is figuring out what other previous movies influenced the one you are watching. Moreover, "The New Gladiators" along with the similar "Endgame" was an obvious precursor to "The Running Man."
