Don't hold your breath. But I think you can get it on VHS still. Better than nothing. BTW this is one of his best movies IMHO. I rank it up there with Planes Trains and Automobiles. p.s. did you catch him in his bit role in The Silent Partner? That was the first movie I ever saw him in, back in the late 70's, before I ever knew who he was (a great comedian). In The Silent Partner (also a great movie) he plays a straight role.

i doubt it is even available on vhs anymore. too bad. very funny film. i always loved the scene where he is practicing his drums and singing that song. funny thing, i heard the real version of that song in a restaurant in ft. lauderdale last year and just started laughing. i hadn't seen going berserk in over 15yrs probably.

Amazon has it cheap on VHS. Many offers there. Just checked.

I love his singing with headphones and he keeps saying "yeah" every time his girlfriend tries to talk to him.

Another good one scene is in the courtroom when he's getting busted.

Also the sect leader is very funny.

Also that scene in the dressing room where he starts acting "manly" around all those muscular dudes reminds me A LOT of the scene in "Planes Trains and Automobiles" where he and Steve Martin wake up together in the hotel room.

Many, many other great scenes and laughs besides those. I am amazed this film doesn't have more fans.

You can buy used (sometimes new old stock that is unopened) on Amazon and ebay, of course it is still only video tape, we need it to be released onto DVD, been waiting for years, guess it is never gonna happen. i did transfer my video tape to dvd-r when i finally got a dvd recorder a few months ago, quality is still only video quality, but at least with digital it will not wear out like the video tape will over time.

I was in West Coast Video yesterday, and they carry a John Candy Box set of Uncle Buck (great movie), The Great Outdoors (I only saw it once or twice, don't remember much) and most importantly, Going Berserk. I paid $19.99 for all three. The set is put out by Universal, offical title is John Candy Comedy Favorites Collection. Catalog number is 61033120.Deepd Discount is sewlling it for just under $16. http://www.deepdiscount.com/viewcart.htm

This would have made an entertaining release with commentary by the three SCTV-ers, the three of them doing commentary for any movie would have been great. Just Joe and Eugene would still be great.

Picked it up in Big Lots as a stand-alone for $3.
